If you've found this page, congratulations on your pregnancy! Newborn portraiture is a really amazing experience. This window is so short, and your baby will change so much over the next few weeks. Below you will find some FAQ's on newborn photography:

When should I schedule with you?

It's recommended that newborn sessions are scheduled at least two months in advance of your due date (don't worry, we choose a tentative date 5-10 days after birth and adjust accordingly after the baby is born). If you have passed this mark, no worries! Contact the studio to check availability.

Do I need to bring anything to the session?

All props and newborn clothing are provided by the studio. However, some parents like to bring along a special item (stuffed animal, baby blanket, etc) and that's okay too! If you are looking to incorporate a certain theme or have a particular prop in mind, just ask! We are usually able to accommodate your requests. We do ask that you bring plenty of milk/formula and a pacifier. While we will never force anyone into using a pacifier, it is extremely beneficial to calming your baby so we do ask you to consider, even if just for the session.

Can other siblings be in the session?

We offer a whole family newborn package, and can go over the information with you to see which session is best for your family.

How long will the session last?

Newborn sessions can last a very long time. Simply wrapped sessions are much faster and can be completed in about an hour, and we try to finish the full newborn session in 2 hours, but some babies need a little extra time for soothing and feedings, so please prepare for up to 4 hours in the studio, especially if you are adding the entire family. Whichever option you choose, we will help you prepare ahead of time with lots of tips for the quickest and most comfortable session possible.

What should parents wear?

Parents should dress in layers (the studio will be HOT to us, but comfortable for a bare bottomed baby!). Colors will be discussed at your planning appointment, but typically neutral colors work best.

How much will my newborn sessions cost?

The session fee for newborn portraits ranges from $125 to $200, and what you choose to purchase from there is up to you. On average, many families invest $800 or more on their finished portraits. Payment plans, Baby's First Year (multiple sessions ranging maternity through first year- several options available), and Online Baby Registry are all available! Please know that your baby is in good hands. We realize that handing your baby over to someone else's care after birth can be hard, and we welcome you to stay near your baby at all times if you desire. We never force babies into poses, attempt unsafe posing, or attempt to hold off feedings during these sessions. Your baby's needs and safety always come first and foremost. You are welcome to sit in the camera room to watch the session, or you are welcome to relax in the sitting area and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
