Portrait Boxes: The DL

At the beginning of 2018, a new item was introduced: The Portrait Box.

What I've come to find is that this unique product seems to stump many of us- even myself -until we can fully understand the value of it. So here's the down-low on MY box specifically:

What is a portrait box?

Portrait Box, folio box, portrait case, memory box, treasure chest- call it what you may. This baby is the creme de la creme when it comes to the perfect way to find a home for a large amount of images.

Do you know how many times I hear "I love them all! But I don't think I have space to get them all!" It's a real problem (albeit a good problem to have). This is a game changer for those of you who DO want all the images, but are lacking the wall space.

Similar to an album, my portrait boxes hold up to 20 matted prints. They come standard in black (or if you would like a custom color, we can do that too!) and are created by expert craftsmen in the home of all things luxury- Italy.

What are some benefits of this vs an album?

Unlike an album, these portrait boxes provide a huge benefit in terms of flexibility. Because each matted print is a separate stand-alone image, you have multiple options to put these images into use for daily enjoyment:

1. You can frame your matted print (or several) and rotate the images in those frames as often as you please. This allows you to enjoy a different image from your session as often as you like.

2. My box is unique in the fact that the lid has a transparent cover. This allows you to use the box in itself as a frame (can it get any cooler!?). Simply place the image you would like to view in the top of the stack, and stand it up on your mantle, a shelf, or a table for display.

3. Sharing is caring! You can choose to keep all the images for yourself, or you can share some images with your family. Additionally, you can continue to add more images from your NEXT session as well!

4. Beautiful and proper storage for the long haul. Now I know none of us (ahem) have ever used a shoebox or plain storage box and tossed in our old photos. While it's unlikely that you would ever WANT to "retire" these images, if you ever did, you don't have to worry about finding a safe way to store them. Simply place your images back in the box, and move the box to a safe place.

5. The perfect mixed media keepsake. The portrait box is made primarily to store your images, but why not use this as a beautiful shadow box as well? This would be an amazing way to commemorate special occasions, for example, a new baby. (We can professionally mat any important papers if you bring them in, and this would be a wonderful place to display any mementos like a hospital bracelet!)

I hope this gives everyone a bit of insight to the mysterious "Portrait Box" and I hope you love it as much as I do! When it comes to durability, quality, and flexibility for your smaller sized portraits, the Portrait Box is second to none.
