Jade- Crestview Senior Class of 2018
Meet Jade- 2018 graduating class from Crestview High School in Columbiana, Ohio. Jade and I go waaaaay back. So far back it makes me feel way older than I am. Her older sister and I actually graduated together a decade ago- so most of my memories of Jade were of her as a tiny tot, crashing in on our big girl slumber parties, probably pantsless and wearing only a diaper, and most likely barefoot.
Well, as we can see, Jade is no longer that cute little tot anymore- she's gown into a beautiful, smart, funny, respectable young women. Jade-you have made everyone so proud and I'm looking forward to watching your future unfold for you!
Jade's senior session started in Spring of 2017. We did a split season session which never ceases to amaze me how much even these Seniors change over the course of a year.
I just love how light and fun this shot is! Beautiful flowers at Mill Creek Park's Fellows Riverside Gardens.

I know this image isn't Jade's favorite- but I'm going to continue to tell her she's crazy. Her eyes here- they just seem to draw you right in and freeze you for a minute.

Later in the year, we scheduled her fall portrait session. We started at the Lily Pond in Mill Creek Park. These images were just stunning!
I love the way the sunlight has her back-lit in this image, and how the branches frame her, drawing you right to the center of the image.
It seems nearly every senior shoot, there is a moment when I get the "are you kidding?" look. I'm pretty sure when I asked Jade to play in the water, that was definitely the moment. :D
And while sometimes we do these crazy things and feel quite ridiculous in the moment, it's so important to just let go and have fun with the craziness of the session. Because when you get really fun and gorgeous shots- it's all worth it!
This one is a photographer's favorite! (And while Jade has grown enough to ditch the diapers and wear pants regularly- we can see that she is still going barefoot :D ).

Next, we headed on over to Lanterman's Mill- one of the most popular locations in the Youngstown area for senior portraits.

This is another one of my favorite shots. I adore the sultry look Jade has in this image, and the way the lines of the rocks as well as her pose in this image lead your eye right to her face is just perfect.
This is another show where I am really drawn to the composition.
After the shoot, Jade and her mom came by the studio to place their order. Check out the awesome reveal when they came to pick up!
We designed this wall gallery at the ordering appointment, so I wanted to set it up as designed so they could check out the final result.

It's always bittersweet when products are delivered and I say congratulations, and goodbye for now. But knowing that this process has created lasting works of art that will be enjoyed daily- that keeps me smiling. :)
