Engagement - Youngstown, OH

It all starts with a little ring...

I love weddings. I love engagements. And I love photographing them both. Filled with the most beautiful details and so much love and passion.

Amanda and Nick are all the way from Dublin, OH, but they were kind enough to make a trip all the way up to Youngstown's beautiful Mill Creek Park for their engagement session.

I adore this ring! The way the band is intertwined and studded with pave diamonds is just gorgeous!

We stopped by Mill Creek Park's Lanterman's Mill for a couple waterfall shots.

I love the natural smiles! (Am I the only one wondering what Nick was whispering into Amanda's ear? I bet his lips are sealed!)

During my photoshoots, I really love adding a variety of creative lighting. Under the bridge was a perfect location to add some moody shots! Adding varying lighting is an excellent way to completely transform a location into something totally different.

Surprisingly, this session took place during those bleak winter months (you know, when we REALLY though Spring should have already arrived but instead we were still building snowmen? Yeah- that's the time).

Despite the cold and barren outdoors, it only takes looking at a location a bit differently to add beautiful light, color, and warmth.

Rather than focusing on what MIGHT be growing, we found life in something different-the rocks! Not only did these provide beautiful, vibrant color, but the textures and lines they created turned into some of my favorite shots!

I love the way Amanda's scarf adds just a BIT of pattern to these. The muted brown tones of their jackets were perfect for this location, and the scarf was a perfect way to bring your eye right towards the center of the frame.
